From 1914, until independence in 1961, Kuwait was a British protectorate. Kuwait has been under threat of invasion by Iraq on numerous occasions, and British troops were recalled to Kuwait soon after independence, and again in 1990, when a UN force was deployed to Force Iraq to withdraw from Kuwait after a failed attempt to annex Kuwait into Iraq.
The flag of Kuwait was adopted in the same year as independence. It features the Pan-Arab colours of red, white, green and black. The black is said to represent the defeat of enemies on the battlefield, red symbolizes the blood of enemies on Arab swords, green represents the fertile lands, and white represents purity, peace and honour.Contact us to purchase
